Cold War Kids – Robbers & Cowards | Anniversary Expanded 2xLP

Cold War Kids’ Robbers & Cowards brings jagged indie-rock rhythms, blues-inflected guitars, and soulful vocals into a loose, restless sound. Sparse passages leave the voice exposed before piano, bass, and percussion pull the songs into a rough-edged groove. Its character comes from that push and pull: intimate storytelling delivered with the energy of a band leaning into every rhythmic turn.

“We Used to Vacation” opens with a tense narrative, while “Hang Me Up to Dry” turns a wiry bass-driven groove into an immediate hook. “Saint John” and “Hospital Beds” show the record’s range, moving between insistent repetition and a more expansive emotional release. This anniversary expanded 2xLP edition extends the listening session with a second disc of additional material. The supplied 23-track sequence is preserved below, including repeated song titles without assigning unconfirmed live or demo versions.
